Make both ends of the FF&E lifecycle digital.
Hotels spend tens of millions fitting out rooms, then lose track of everything the day the manual is handed over. Designers spend weeks assembling that manual by hand. We think those are two halves of one problem, and we're building a single platform for both.
Why this, why now
The data that runs a hotel's rooms already exists. It's just trapped in documents no system can query, maintain or act on. The design firm's job ends at handover; the procurement company's at delivery; the manufacturer's at sale. Everyone has a rational reason to let the FF&E record go stale.
Controlbook closes that gap. We keep the specification as living, queryable data and put an agent on top of it that can identify a broken item, check availability, source compliant alternatives and draft the supplier email. And because the designer who built the spec can hand it straight to the hotel, the same record serves the whole life of the asset.
Two founders, two halves of the problem.
Max Beech
Co-founder · Product & engineering
Max is a technical product builder who designs and ships the platform end to end. Previously a senior product manager at Yahoo Finance and Revolut, he turns a gnarly, real-world industry problem into software that people actually want to use. He brings the execution.
maxbeech.comStuart Anderson
Co-founder · Domain
Stuart has spent more than thirty years in hotel furniture, fixtures and equipment, specifying, sourcing and supplying across major chains. He's watched countless multi-million-pound fit-outs collapse into an unsearchable PDF on opening day, and seen why a single broken item can keep a room offline for months. He brings the domain depth and the relationships.
Where we are
We're early, and we'd rather say so plainly. The platform is built and running on real hotel FF&E data, and we're onboarding our first founding hotel groups and design partners now, rather than pointing at logos we haven't earned.
If you operate hotels or specify their FF&E, we'd genuinely like to show you the whole loop on your own data and hear where it's wrong.
See it running on your own property's data.
Give us 30 minutes. We'll report a real fault, identify the item, check availability and draft the supplier email, live, on a sample of your own data.
Built by Max Beech, who led product at Yahoo Finance and Revolut, and Stuart Anderson, who has spent 30+ years in hotel FF&E.
