For facilities, operations and asset managers

A tag is only useful if it scans to something live.

Controlbook gives every FF&E item a real record — spec, supplier, fire rating, location and history — so a scanned tag opens the full asset, and a fault goes from reported to order-placed in under an hour.

  • Each tag resolves to a live, queryable asset record
  • Spec, supplier and compliance data one scan away
  • Built for FF&E across one property or a whole estate

How to use this tool

  1. 1Add an asset with an ID, name and location.
  2. 2A QR code encoding the asset details is generated in your browser.
  3. 3Add as many assets as you need — they lay out on a printable sheet.
  4. 4Print onto label stock or paper, then tag your furniture and equipment.

Why use QR asset labels?

Physical asset tags close the gap between a register on screen and the item in the room. A label with a scannable QR code means anyone with a phone can identify a piece of furniture or equipment instantly — useful for stock-takes, condition checks, maintenance and proving what's where during an audit or insurance claim.

This generator builds those tags entirely in your browser. Enter an asset's ID, name and location and it encodes them into a QR code; add more and they arrange onto a sheet ready to print. There is no account and no upload — the codes are generated on your device, so even the asset data never leaves your machine.

Print onto adhesive label stock or plain paper and you have a tagging system in minutes. It pairs naturally with an asset register — the QR encodes the same identity you record there — and shows how quickly physical and digital asset tracking come together when the data has a proper home.

Frequently asked questions

What do the QR codes contain?

Each QR code encodes the asset details you enter — its ID, name and location — as text. Scanning it with any phone camera or QR reader shows that information. The codes are generated entirely in your browser.

Can I print these onto label sheets?

Yes. The tags lay out on a printable grid that suits standard label stock or plain paper. Use your browser's print dialog and select the right paper size; a print-friendly layout is applied automatically.

Do the codes link to anything online?

By default they encode the asset details as plain text, so they work offline and reveal nothing on a public server. If you run an asset platform, you'd encode a link to each asset's record instead — which is exactly what Controlbook does.
